Veteran Colin Thackery has won this year’s Britain’s Got Talent competition.
The 89-year-old Chelsea pensioner who’s singing performances on this year’s Britain’s Got Talent have earned him £250,000 and the opportunity to perform in front of royalty.
He has dedicated his performances to his late wife and became a favorite among the show’s judge’s as well as across the nation.
The veteran sang, ‘Wind beneath my wings,’ ‘Love Changes everything’ and ‘We will meet again.’ In his last performance he was joined on stage by his friends at the Royal Hospital Chelsea.
Judge Amanda Holden said, “Colin does not want to win the competition for fame or glamour.” She went on to say, “I know that this is because you served your country and I hope tonight that they serve you.”
After winning the competition Colin was asked to explain his emotions to which he replied that he would, “Die happy.”
The Royal Variety performance will take place at the London Palladium on Monday 16th November.
