Remembrance Day 2018

We will never forget

 Remembrance Day 2018

Across the nation and around the world, on 11th November at 11 am, 2018, we will remember and  honour the courage and devotion of brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice of dying for their country.

“In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly.

Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders Fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders Fields.”

John McCrae

A National Service of Remembrance will be held at the Cenotaph in Whitehall, London. Members of the Royal Family and Government will pay their respects and attend a service alongside representatives from the Armed Forces and general public.  Services like this will be commemorating across the entire country.

This year is enormously significant, as it marks 100 years since the end of the first world war. There have been various events throughout the year and they will culminate with the remembrance parade at the Cenotaph in London. Soldiers and veterans, old and new from each of the Services, their respective Corps, Regiments Associations will line the streets on Sunday afternoon.

From all of our team at Trinity Insurance Services we would like to convey our respects to those who have served to defend our country over the last 100 years.
